IT STARTS WITH THE END-USER

Every Fjord Defence product starts in the same place: with the people who are going to use it.

Through close dialogue with operators, customers and industry partners, we identify real operational challenges and turn them into practical requirements. Sometimes the need is clear. Sometimes it begins with a simple question:

Can this be done better?

Understanding how equipment is actually handled, operated and maintained in the field is fundamental to our development process. Before the first line is drawn, we want to understand the user, the platform and the environment the system will operate in.

Development Process

At Fjord Defence, development begins with the end-user. Every solution is shaped through close cooperation with operators and customers, ensuring real operational needs drive the design from the very first concept.

As a small and agile engineering team, we combine fast decision-making with practical development experience to move efficiently from idea to validated solution. Short paths between engineering, workshop, prototyping, and production enable rapid iteration, reduced risk, and continuous refinement throughout the process.

Our development approach combines concept design, engineering analysis, rapid prototyping, testing, and qualification in one integrated workflow. In-house tools such as 3D design, prototyping, 3D scanning, and simulation support early evaluation and optimization, while physical testing verifies performance under realistic conditions.

Developed and manufactured in Norway, Fjord Defence solutions are built around robust engineering, precision manufacturing, and materials selected for demanding operational environments. Stainless steel 316, aluminium, and advanced carbon fiber composites are key elements across the product range, enabling corrosion resistance, durability, and low weight without compromising performance.

Whether adapting an existing product or developing a fully customized solution, the focus remains the same: improved functionality, simplicity, durability, and maintainability for the user.

From first concept to field-ready system, the goal is not simply to develop products — but to develop reliable capability.
