The Fjord Defence Lightweight Tripod with integrated Traverse & Elevation (T&E) mechanism is designed to provide a stable and accurate firing platform while maintaining low weight and high durability. The system combines a hybrid fiberglass and carbon construction with a total system weight of less than 10 kg, ensuring optimal portability without compromising strength.
The tripod features an adjustable front leg and telescopic rear legs, allowing flexible height adjustment and adaptation to varied terrain. The system enables rapid setup and packing, and is designed for reliable operation in harsh environments, including saltwater conditions.
The integrated T&E mechanism allows both rapid and precise weapon control. The operator can quickly reposition the weapon using a single-handed locking handle, while fine adjustments in elevation and azimuth are achieved through handwheels. Integrated sector limiters enable fast and accurate setting of the firing sector.
The system is equipped with a NATO STANREC 4796 pintle interface, providing compatibility with Fjord Defence MMG, HMG, and AGL mounts, as well as legacy systems. By adapting the appropriate mount, the tripod supports a wide range of weapon systems including 12.7 mm HMG and 40 mm automatic grenade launchers.
